How 9bot operates, what it does and doesn't do, and our commitment to transparency and user-directed automation.
🤖 What is 9bot
9bot is a WhatsApp automation assistant designed for community managers and group administrators. It automates moderation, commands, RSS/news feeds, and scheduled messages to keep communities active and organized.
The bot only performs actions that are explicitly configured by the end user through the 9bot dashboard. It does not crawl websites, does not collect personal data, and does not perform any autonomous actions outside the scope defined by the administrator.
✅ What 9bot Does
9bot performs the following activities, all configured and authorized by the group administrator:
Group Moderation
- Automated removal of spam, links, and prohibited content
- Anti-flood and message rate limiting
- Strike system with configurable warnings and punishments
- Custom word filtering
Content Automation
- RSS feed delivery to authorized groups
- Scheduled and recurring messages
- Welcome messages for new group members
Commands & Interaction
- 120+ built-in commands for group management
- Custom command responses and FAQ shortcuts
- Dashboard-based configuration and analytics
🚫 What 9bot Does NOT Do
9bot is designed with strict boundaries. The following activities are explicitly outside its scope:
- Does not crawl or scrape websites
- Does not collect, store, or sell personal data
- Does not perform credential stuffing or security scanning
- Does not send unsolicited messages or spam
- Does not perform DDoS attacks or network flooding
- Does not access unauthorized resources or APIs
- Does not perform autonomous actions without user configuration
🔒 Data Handling
9bot is committed to minimal data usage and transparency:
- No personal data collection: 9bot does not store phone numbers, messages, or media beyond what is necessary for configured features
- Operational logs only: Logs are kept for moderation actions and system diagnostics, not for surveillance
- No third-party sharing: Data processed by 9bot is never shared with or sold to third parties
- User control: Group administrators can delete all data associated with their bot instance at any time
🌐 Bot Identification
When 9bot makes HTTP requests (e.g., fetching RSS feeds), it identifies itself with the following user-agent:

📡 HTTP Request Behavior
When fetching external content such as RSS feeds, 9bot follows strict network etiquette:
- Requests are rate-limited (typically 1–10 requests/minute per instance)
- 30-second timeout with a maximum of 3 retry attempts (exponential backoff)
- Crawl-delay directives are respected when specified
- No access to admin, login, or sensitive directories
- Only publicly available content endpoints are accessed
